This weekend was the first two days of the club championships at Coed-y-Mwstwr. I didn't know that two months ago when I booked a Stag-do for 3 groups including myself around 1pm on the Saturday!
The weather was absolutely outstanding for both days and the course was prepared to a very high standard with very evil pin positions (The Spawn of Satan must have set them).
The format for days 1 and 2 was scratch medal with the top 16 scores after 72 holes progressing to the Reginald Fairfax club championship knock-outs, 17 to 32 playing off for the Jim Phillips silver bowl and 33 to 64 playing for the Tony David bronze plate.
Considering the pin positions, and the fact that I didn't feel like I played particularly well on either day, I'm quite pleased to let you know that I just missed qualifying for the silver bowl and will be playing for the bronze plate.
Rhodri's Stag do was a hit. The weather was awesome, the company was fantastic and the drinks and curry were 'rather pleasant'!
Looking forward to my match against Steve to hopefully progress the round of 16 in the plate.
I've also got my next match for the Trilby Tour Matchplay booked for the 2nd June. It's an away match against Leigh at Dinas Powis Golf Club. I get three shots (so far) and am looking forward to playing the course. Should be a good day.
More dribblings another day!!
Cheers
